YTMND - A Fruity Pebbles Xmas

December 12, 2007 By: M2J Category: General 1 Comment →

This is one of the few YTMNDs that’s really cracked me up in a while. The saddest thing is that I remember this commercial verbatim and was singing along…well, up to a point.

Not for nothing Amazon, but you might want to get a second opinion on some of this stuff once in a while.

Transformers: Homemade Optimus Prime Costume Also Deserves Props

I’m not a huge fan of Transformers, but this definitely deserves props, no doubt.

Rocket Dock. If you don’t love it, some chick will.

December 11, 2007 By: wakasm Category: General 1 Comment →

I came across this recently and I have to say it’s one of those Mac on Windows like features I’ve grown to enjoy. Now your girlfriend can’t complain they like Macs better, especially when they usually don’t know anything more than how to check email and surf the web.

RocketDock is a smoothly animated, alpha blended application launcher. It provides a nice clean interface to drop shortcuts on for easy access and organization. With each item completely customizable there is no end to what you can add and launch from the dock.

Features:

  • Minimize windows to the dock
  • Real-time window previews in Vista
  • Running application indicators
  • Simple drag-n-drop interface
  • Multi-monitor support
  • Supports alpha-blended PNG and ICO icons
  • Icons zoom and transition smoothly
  • Auto-hide and Popup on mouse over
  • Positioning and layering options
  • Fully customizable
  • Completely Portable
  • ObjectDock Docklet support
  • Compatible with MobyDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, and Y’z Dock skins
  • Runs great on slower computers
  • Unicode compliant
  • Supports many languages and can easily be translated
  • A friendly user base :)
  • And best of all… its FREE!!!

The only weird part about the Rocket Dock video is… it sometimes sounds like a chick. Other times it sounds like it could be an 11 year old boy. Yick.

WWF THEMES eSnips Folder

So, I happened across this not too long ago, the lot of you should know about it too if you’re old school wrestling fans. Whoever this fellow is, he’s got a load of old WWF themes (some WCW as well if you browse his other stuff). I used to obsess over getting these when I was younger and evidently this dude has them all, some of which better quality than I had previously.

Star Trek: Remastered!

December 10, 2007 By: M2J Category: General 2 Comments →

I’m shocked that over a year has gone by and I somehow missed this. Maybe you all did to? The original Star Trek series is being released on HD-DVD! What’s crazy about it is the overhaul it’s actually receiving.

The most noticeable change will be redoing many of the special effects, created with 1960s technology, with 21st century computer-generated imagery (CGI). Upgrades include:

  • Space ship exteriors – The Enterprise, as well as other starships, will be replaced with state of the art CGI-created ships. The new computer-generated Enterprise is based on the exact measurements of the original model, which now rests in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
  • Show opening – The Enterprise and planets seen in the main title sequence will be redone, giving them depth and dimension for the first time.
  • Galaxy shots – All the graphics of the galaxy, so frequently seen through the viewscreen on the Enterprise’s bridge, will be redone.
  • Exteriors – The battle scenes, planets and ships from other cultures (notably the Romulan Bird of Prey and Klingon Battle Cruisers) will be updated.
  • Background scenes – Some of the iconic, yet flat, matte paintings used as backdrops for the strange, new worlds explored by the Enterprise crew will get a CGI face-lift, adding atmosphere and lighting.

Included in the videos (obviously) is greater detail, about cleaning the original negatives, re-recording music in surround sound, etc…

You can read the whole article (and see some videos on the topic) via this link.

This is one of the web-based shows I watch normally. I thought this edition was particularly interesting. How many of you know this little tidbit of information?

P.S. This chick is awesome!
